Holland Family Calendar

Once the Google Calendar is set up, it'll appear right here — fully interactive, updated in real time. Family members can add events from iPhone or Android and everyone sees them instantly.

Setting Up the Holland Family Google Calendar

Andrew — here's the 5-minute setup to get the calendar live:

  1. Go to Google Calendar — calendar.google.com — and sign in with whichever Google account you want to use for the family.
  2. Create a new calendar — In the left sidebar, click the + next to "Other calendars" → "Create new calendar." Name it Holland Family.
  3. Make it public — Go to Settings → click your new calendar → "Access permissions" → check "Make available to public." This lets the website embed it without a login.
  4. Get the embed code — Still in settings, scroll to "Integrate calendar" → copy the Calendar ID (looks like abc123@group.calendar.google.com). Also copy the iframe embed code.
  5. Share with Claude — Send me the Calendar ID and embed code in our next session. I'll drop the iframe into this page and update the subscription links.
  6. Invite family members — Under "Share with specific people," add family member emails so they can add/edit events too.
On iPhone: Once a family member is invited, they can open the Google Calendar app, and any event they add will sync to the website automatically. They can also use the iCal subscribe link in Apple Calendar — that gives them read-only view but keeps it in their phone calendar.
